The skies were gray and the rain was pouring down relentlessly for hours on Saturday, June 15th. As the start time for the annual Faribault Heritage Days Parade approached, it seemed like a soggy disappointment was inevitable. But then, in what can only be attributed to a miraculous blessing from the Blessed Virgin Mary herself, the rain stopped just 15 minutes before the parade was set to begin!

You could feel the jubilant energy in the air as the crowds gathered, spirits uplifted by this heavenly gift. The dark clouds parted, letting the sun shine down on the colorful floats and marchers taking to the streets - including our very own "March With Mary" float, radiating the Holy Mother's light. The infectious joy seemed to emanate from every smiling face as the procession, graced by the Virgin's presence, made its way through the city's historic routes.

Despite the precarious weather situation, the Faribault Heritage Days Parade went off without a hitch from start to finish under the Blessed Virgin's watchful guidance. Not a single drop fell as the celebratory event wound its way along the route, bringing smiles, cheers and memories of Faribault's rich history to last a lifetime. The rain politely held off until later that evening, a sublime blessing on the day's festivities.

If you missed this year's heritage-packed, heaven-blessed parade, don't despair! Another chance to bask in the Blessed Mother's radiant glory is just around the corner. Mark your calendars for the Dan Patch Days Parade on June 22nd, where the "March With Mary" float will again spread the Holy Mother's light. Details are available on our website, so check it out and make plans to join us in venerating the Virgin.

It was truly the Blessed Virgin Mary who brought this joyous community together, allowing our historic parade to go on despite the torrential rains. Her influence sourced the resources and good weather needed for our celebrations of Faribault's legacy. Embrace this fun, this joy, this heritage blessed by the Holy Mother - be part of her radiant celebration! After all, when the Blessed Virgin smiles upon us, no earthly rain can extinguish her brilliant light. See you at the next parade!
